Find Point of Light started of as a competition project in submission for the Manchester bombing memorial. The concept was to create an installation that would be aligned to the sun path in a way that it shines a light on an engraved granite stone on the birthdays of the victims in order to celebrate their life.
The rectangle on the right is dimensioned to represent a human figure at the height of 180cm
This was done by tracking the sun vectors to a surface and optimizing the design to be able to perform within reasonable dimensions for a norther latitude location where the sun angles can vary significantly throughout the year.
